Data Warehousing Know-how – Data structures and Transformation processes

We designate Data Warehousing as the process for consolidating, cleansing and storing data for the purpose of Business Intelligence. A data warehouse is a dispositive database with the objective of evaluation and therefore information gain.

The Software Technologies, with which we work, contain a number of powerful tools for the transformation and storage of data. For the setup of a dispositive database, our software engineers require and possess methodical tools of the trade in the form of design patterns:

  • Structuring the data warehouse in various layers, from the data acquisition through data consolidation up to data provision.
  • Suitable data models for the various layers: Relational and multidimensional models.
  • Suitable data models for various types of usage: Standard reporting, self service and modeling.
  • Ensuring data and information quality through the compilation of suitable metadata and application relevant data cleansing.
  • The application of the right and (related to the amount of data) sufficiently fast data transformations.

We combine these methodical skills and our experience with the available software tools to develop appropriate solutions.
